About

London-based Viaro Energy was established by its CEO Francesco Mazzagatti, who has operated in the oil and gas sector since 2012, for the purpose of focusing on the North Sea basin. Viaro Energy’s first major investment in the North Sea oil and gas exploration and production was the 2020 acquisition of RockRose Energy. The company acts as Viaro Energy’s main operating subsidiary, through which all of its interests in the UK and the Netherlands are consolidated.

Since then, Viaro Energy has completed several other acquisitions, including 16 non-operated gas interests in the UK from SSE E&P UK Limited in 2021, the Dutch portfolio of Hague and London Oil (HALO) BV in 2021, and the Spark Exploration UK assets in the West of Shetlands in 2023. Viaro Energy has also signed a farm-in agreement with Hartshead Resources Ltd. in 2023, for a 60% working interest in a Southern North Sea development and operatorship of the licence.

Viaro Energy is ultimately committed to a long-term investment in the North Sea basin and the security of the UK’s energy supply. The company’s strategy remains a combination of targeted M&A opportunities and continuous investments in the development of existing assets, which has thus far led to sizable growth. Viaro Energy’s aggregated working interests in UKCS fields with JV partners contribute to 9% gross and 3% net of the total daily gas production, with current annual production up to 30,000 boepd.
